  Supervisor Candace noted that we have not met since the mass shooting in Atlanta.  The Board does not condone violence against any group and reaffirms it's support of the Asian community;

Chair Burgis said a resolution in support of the Asian community will be presented for adoption;

Supervisor Mitchoff spoke on the need for background checks for the purchase of guns, especially in light of the recent mass shootings.

  In the case of Sutter Bay Hospitals, dba Alta Bates Medical Center et al. v. Contra Costa Health Plan, American Association Arbitration Case No. 01-20-0015-0254, the five members of the Board voted unanimously to settle for $3,000,000 an arbitration involving a billing dispute between CCHP and Sutter Health.  A copy of the settlement agreement is available on request.

The Board meets in all its capacities pursuant to Ordinance Code Section 24-2.402, including as the Housing Authority and the Successor Agency to the Redevelopment Agency. All matters listed under CONSENT ITEMS are considered by the Board to be routine and will be enacted by one motion. There will be no separate discussion of these items unless requested by a member of the Board or a member of the public prior to the time the Board votes on the motion to adopt. 

Persons who wish to speak on matters set for PUBLIC HEARINGS will be heard when the Chair calls for comments from those persons who are in support thereof or in opposition thereto.
