The Committee began a discussion regarding formation of a working group to develop a needs assessment to support a potential sales tax. Chris Wikler from Supervisor Mitchoff's office and Sonia Bustamante from Supervisor Gioia's office will staff the working group. Agendas and Records of Action will be published through the County's website. Mariana Moore with Ensuring Opportunity Campaign and Joshua Anijar with the Contra Costa Central Labor Council were identified as Co-Chairs. The group discussed the pros and cons of general and special taxes, advisory expenditure plans, future polling, inclusion, and the restricted timeline. At the first meeting of the working group, the group will develop clear principles and values so all have the right spirit to get to a decision and action points. | |||||||
