Staff provided instruction for access to English live transcription (automated closed captioning) and live simultaneous Spanish interpretation and then conducted roll call. There were approximately 63 participants. After Roll Call, Mariana Moore notified the MXCAB that staff would be asked to add a standing agenda item to weekly meetings to discuss and provide input on future presenters. BK Williams reminded the MXCAB that presenters should look like their program participants.

There were no public comments on items not on the agenda. One public comment was received via email as follow-up information from First 5 Contra Costa, CSB/EHSD, CocoKids, and Parent Voices. |

RECEIVE presentations on the needs of youth and young adults. |

Mariana Moore introduced the topic for discussion. Kathy Marsh, Employment and Human Services Department/Children and Family Services Bureau Director, Carol Carrillo, Executive Director of Child Abuse Prevention Council, Eric Wagoner, a former foster youth and former youth partner, Lynn Mackey, County Office of Education, County Superintendent of Schools, Erika Jenssen, Contra Costa Health Services, Kanwarpal Dhaliwal and youth presenters Isaiah Grant and Ann Guiam, RYSE Center presented on the needs of youth and young adults. At the conclusion of the presentation members of the MXCAB made comments and asked questions. The MXCAB took a break at 6:25 and then continued the discussion. During public comment, Cassie Blazer introduced the Life Learning Academy (https://lifelearningacademysf.org). The Academy, located on Treasure Island, San Francisco, is looking to forge partnerships with organizations in Contra Costa County that serve students that are 18 and under that are homeless or in unstable living situations. Life Learning provides a place to live with the additional benefits of education and workforce development. Additional information will be provided to staff for distribution to the MXCAB.
