Recommendation(s):
APPROVE Appropriations Adjustment No. 5075 authorizing the transfer of appropriations in the amount of $1,850 from the Office of the Sheriff (0362) to General Services, Fleet Operations (0063) to purchase a trailer for the Office of the Sheriff.
Fiscal Impact:
No net county cost.  This purchase is 100% funded by the Off Highway Vehicle Grant from the State of California.
Background:
Several years ago, the Emergency Services Division of the Sheriff-Coroner acquired a Kawasaki Mule (4 wheel Off Highway Vehicle) that the department regularly uses to support events such as the County Fair, MAMFF/SAR trainings and deployments, funerals, parades, off highway enforcement, and all other large scale operations.  The Mule was a grant purchase and the department has been using a trailer owned by Health Services to deploy this piece of equipment.  Health Services is in the process of getting a Mule for their Hazardous Materials Unit and will need their trailer returned to deploy their new Mule.
