RECOMMENDATION(S):

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Fire Chief, or designee, to execute an agreement with the County of Contra Costa regarding stormwater facility operation and maintenance, and right of entry at Fire Station No. 86 located at 10 Goble Drive, Bay Point, California.

FISCAL IMPACT:

There is no fiscal impact associated with this action. The Contra Costa County Fire Protection District (District) will incur ongoing maintenance costs associated with stormwater on the Fire Station 86 site.

BACKGROUND:

Fire Station 86 opened in its new location, 10 Goble Drive in Bay Point, on August 12, 2022. The station is operational and 911 calls are being dispatched from the new facility. The new station includes stormwater discharge facilities that will require future maintenance and inspection by the County of Contra Costa. Staff has worked with the County of Contra Costa to develop this covenant in connection with the overall construction project and in compliance with the conditions of approval. The recording of this covenant is a final step in compliance with these regulations.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this action is not approved, the Fire District would be in violation of the terms and conditions of the building/development permit.
