RECOMMENDATION(S):

Adopt Position Adjustment Resolution No. 25800 to add one (1) Pharmacy Technician (VY9B) position at salary plan and grade TC5 1065 ($4,667.47 - $5,673.34) in the Health Services Department. (Represented)

FISCAL IMPACT:

There is an annual cost of approximately $103,536, which includes $40,151 in pension costs. This cost will be fully offset by the termination of the temporary agency assignment, and funded 100% by Hosptial Enterprise Fund I revenues.

BACKGROUND:

The Pharmacy Division of the Health Services Department has recently terminated a temporary agency assignment. During the tenure of the temporary agency assignment, the Department realized that it has a long-term operational need for a permanent full-time Pharmacy Technician. This position will be used as runner for in-patient Pharmacy and perform duties in other operational areas to ensure staffing continuity due to periods of staffing shortages and absences in the Department.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this request is not approved, the Pharmacy Unit will not have the means to fulfill staffing continuity.
