RECOMMENDATION(S):

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Public Works Director, or designee, to execute Amendment No. 2 to the Consulting Services Agreement with Loving Campos Associates, Architects, Inc. d/b/a LCA Architects, Inc., effective September7, 2021, to increase the payment limit by $100,000 to a new payment limit of $500,000 to provide as-needed architectural services for various County projects, with no change to the term of November 11, 2019 through November 11, 2023, Countywide.

FISCAL IMPACT:

100% various funds as projects are awarded.

BACKGROUND:

On October 20, 2020, the Board of Supervisors approved Amendment No. 1 with LCA Architects, Inc., increasing the payment limit by $205,000 to a new payment limit of $400,000, and extending the term to November 11, 2023.

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)
Amendment No. 2 is necessary for LCA Architects, Inc., to continue to provide as-needed architectural services associated with the completion of ongoing and future new projects. LCA Architects, Inc. is familiar with the countywide projects for design and construction. Therefore, it is recommended that the contract amendment be awarded at this time.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If Amendment No. 2 is not approved, projects currently in process will be delayed, which will ultimately result in higher project costs.
