        D. 4   PUBLIC COMMENT (2 Minutes/Speaker)
  Name Unknown, spoke on the need for assistance with health care expenses and facilities being greater in the community than the need for police funding;

Marianna Moore, Raise the Roof Coalition, thanked the Board for all it's efforts to protect tenants during the pandemic. She noted for informational purposes that AB 3088 on covers a very small portion of all possible evictions and that the state allows the County to adopt more comprehensive ordinances, which it has done so far. She urges the Board to take into consideration the fragility of community during these difficult times;

Nicole Howell, Executive Director of Ombudsman Services for Alameda-Contra Costa, a non-profit organization, bringing to the Board' s attention that though they have continuously provided services, 77 days into the fiscal year, they still do not have a completed contract with the county.

A report will be made to the County Administrator regarding why the contract was not on today's agenda; the contract will be on the next Board agenda for adoption.

Christy Laughlin, Raise the Roof Coaltion, spoke on the minimal protections provided by AB 3088 regarding tenant evictions.

        D. 5   CONSIDER reports of Board members.
  Supervisor Burgis reports that Contra Costa maintains their second highest self-response rate in the State at 76.4%, behind San Mateo at 77.6 %.   There are 15 more days available to be counted. She encourages residents to pull out the stops and set a new record. The Census response teams have given away 4,000 backpacks with hand sanitizer and masks for school supplies, car caravans have been circulating in east county.  Cities have challenged other cities. The Supervisor reminds us that these census numbers are very important to future funding for our recovery from the pandemic.

Supervisor Glover noted with appreciation to staff  that the budget team for Contra Costa has won many awards for it's work over the years.
