RECOMMENDATION(S):

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Health Services Director, or designee, to execute on behalf of the County, Contract #27-815-4 with East Bay Shoulder Clinic and Sports Rehabilitation, Inc., a corporation, in an amount not to exceed $175,000 to provide orthopedic surgery services to Contra Costa Health Plan (CCHP) members for the period September 1, 2018 through August 31, 2020.

FISCAL IMPACT:

This contract is funded 100% by CCHP Enterprise Fund II. (No rate increase)

BACKGROUND:

In October 2016, the County Administrator approved and the Purchasing Services Manager executed Contract #27-815-3 with East Bay Shoulder Clinic and Sports Rehabilitation, Inc. to provide orthopedic surgery services to CCHP members, for the period from September 1, 2016 through August 31, 2018.

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)

Approval of Contract #27-815-4 will allow the contractor to continue to provide orthopedic surgery services through August 31, 2020.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this contract is not approved, certain specialized health care services for CCHP members under the terms of their Individual and Group Health Plan membership contracts with the County will not be provided.
