RECOMMENDATION(S):

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Public Works Director, or designee, to execute a contract amendment with Geosyntec Consultants, Inc., effective September 11, 2018, to increase the payment limit by $250,000 to a new payment limit of $350,000 to provide professional stormwater quality services for a variety of National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Permit requirements, for the period April 1, 2018 through March 31, 2020, Countywide.  
  

FISCAL IMPACT:

Contract will be paid for with Stormwater Utility Assessment Revenue Funds from the unincorporated areas (Fund No. 251700) designated to the County Watershed Program.






BACKGROUND:

This contract is for Geosyntec Consultants, Inc., to provide on-call services in the form of technical assistance and support to meet Contra Costa County’s obligations under the California Regional Water Quality Control Board Municipal Regional Stormwater NPDES Permit No. CAS612008. Public Works staff, on behalf of the County, will contact the contractor as necessary to identify the task and determine the cost and schedule.  

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

Without the approval of this contract by the Board of Supervisors, the County will be unable to meet its obligations under the California Regional Water Quality Control Board Municipal Regional Stormwater NPDES Permit No. CAS612008 and be subject to fines and other penalties from the State of California.
