RECOMMENDATION(S):

ADOPT Traffic Resolution No. 2018/4476 to prohibit parking, stopping, or standing at all times on a portion of the north side of San Pablo Avenue (Road No. 0971C), as recommended by the Public Works Director, Crockett area.

FISCAL IMPACT:

No fiscal impact.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

Parking will remain unrestricted.

BACKGROUND:

Upon request, Contra Costa County Public Works Traffic Engineering staff conducted an investigation related to concerns with parked vehicles in close proximity to the intersection of San Pablo Avenue (Road Number 0971C) and the I-80 off-ramp and Merchant Street (Road No. 2295D). After observation and measurement,it was determined that prohibiting parking for a short length along San Pablo Avenue adjacent to the freeway off-ramp would improve sight lines and traffic safety.
