RECOMMENDATION(S):

APPROVE the contingency fund increase of $70,000, for a new contingency fund total of $359,897.14 and a new payment limit of $2,308,868.54; and


ADOPT Resolution No. 2018/468 accepting as complete the contracted work performed by Granite Rock Company, for the Byron Highway and Camino Diablo Intersection Improvements Project, as recommended by the Public Works Director, Byron area. County Project No. 0662-6R4094, Federal Project No. HRRRL 5928(117) (District III)

FISCAL IMPACT:

The project was funded by 23% Highway Safety Improvement Program Grant Funds, 17% Measure J Return to Source Funds, 12% East County Regional Area of Benefit Funds, and 48% Local Road Funds.

BACKGROUND:

The contingency fund increase is necessary to compensate the contractor for required extra work.

The Public Works Director reports said work has been inspected and complies with the approved plans, special provisions and standard specifications and recommends its acceptance as complete as of April 5, 2018.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

The contractor will not be paid and acceptance notification will not be recorded.
