RECOMMENDATION(S):

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Purchasing Agent to execute, on behalf of the Public Works Director, a purchase order amendment with Cal Steam, Inc., to increase the payment limit by $155,000, to a new payment limit of $250,000, and to extend the termination date from September 30, 2019, to September 30, 2020, for plumbing parts and equipment, Countywide.

FISCAL IMPACT:

This cost is to be funded through the Public Works Department Facilities Maintenance Services budget. (100% General Fund)

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this purchase order is not approved, purchasing plumbing parts and equipment through Cal Steam, Inc. will discontinue.

BACKGROUND:

The Public Works Department Facilities Services Maintenance conducted a Bidsync bid soliciting a vendor for plumbing parts and equipment. These parts are typically items used in plumbing repairs and improvements. Posted as Bidsync Bid # 1705-226, Cal Steam, General Plumbing and Heieck Supply were awarded this commodity. The original request was for two years with three possible one year extensions. This request represents the first of these possible extensions.
