RECOMMENDATION(S):

Approve and authorize the Purchasing Agent, on behalf of the Health Services Department, to execute an amendment to Purchase Order #2778 with Performance Health, formerly known as Patterson Medical, to increase the payment limit by $40,000, from $100,000 to a new payment limit of $140,000 for the purchase of specialized rehabilitation equipment and supplies for the Contra Costa Regional Medical Center (CCRMC) and Health Centers, with no change in the original term of December 1, 2016 through November 30, 2017.

FISCAL IMPACT:

Funded by 100% Hospital Enterprise Fund I.

BACKGROUND:

Contractor provides multiple rehabilitation supplies for the CCRMC and Health Centers, including bikes, treatment tables, and splinting supplies required to perform specialized treatment. The Health Services Department has had an increase in patients needing these services.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this purchase order is not approved, the Rehabilitation Unit at the CCRMC and Health Centers will not be able to provide specialized treatment and therapy to patients.
