RECOMMENDATION(S):

AUTHORIZE the Purchasing Agent to execute, on behalf of the Health Services Department, a purchase order with SamClar in an amount not to exceed $145,780 to procure furniture for the remodel of the Contra Costa Health Plan (CCHP) Advice Nurse Unit.

FISCAL IMPACT:

This Contract is funded 100% by Contra Costa Health Plan Enterprise II Fund.

BACKGROUND:

Advice Nurses, who serve over 200,000 health plan members, non-members and County residents in state emergencies, have been working in confined, non-confidential work stations. CCHP has found an adjoining expansion space to provide adequate room for all nurses to have HIPAA compliant work stations.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this purchase order is not approved, the CCHP Advice Nurse Unit will not have HIPAA compliant and ergonomically appropriate work space to conduct their work and serve clients.
