RECOMMENDATION(S):

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Purchasing Agent to execute, on behalf of the Sheriff-Coroner, a purchase order with Supplyworks in an amount not to exceed $300,000 for miscellaneous janitorial supplies and services as needed within the three County detention facilities for the period October 1, 2017 through September 30, 2019.

FISCAL IMPACT:

100 % General Fund; Budgeted.

BACKGROUND:

Supplyworks provides custodial products, items and supplies as needed for the three County detention facilities. They also repair and service janitorial equipment that is proprietary to the detention facilities. The detention facilities purchase janitorial supplies for over 2,000 inmates. Items include over 100 cases a week of toilet paper, paper towels, hand soap & other cleaning chemicals and supplies.

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)

This is a Public Works select vendor per SIPC (Schools of Illinois Public Cooperative) Master Agreement. A 3-year contract ensures uninterrupted service to support the custodial needs of the detention facilities.
