RECOMMENDATION(S):

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract #74–190–18 with Mental Health Management I, Inc. (dba Canyon Manor), a corporation, in an amount not to exceed $227,206, to provide mental health subacute care and treatment services for adults, for the period July 1, 2017 through June 30, 2018.

FISCAL IMPACT:

Upon approval, this contract will result in expenditures of up to $227,206 for mental health services, which will be funded 100% by Mental Health Realignment funding. (Rate increase)

BACKGROUND:

This contract meets the social needs of County’s population by providing long-term care for adults with serious mental illness who require skilled nursing inpatient psychiatric care.

On November 15, 2016, the Board of Supervisors approved Novation Contract #74–190–17 with Mental Health Management I, Inc. (dba Canyon Manor), for the period July 1, 2016 through June 30, 2017 for the provision of mental health subacute care and treatment services.  
  
Approval of Contract #74–190–18 will allow the Contractor to continue to provide services through June 30, 2018.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this contract is not approved, County residents will not receive any mental health subacute care and treatment services provided by this Contractor.
