RECOMMENDATION(S):
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Employment and Human Services Director, or designee, on behalf of the Workforce Development Board (WDB) Small Business Development Center (SBDC) to apply for and accept grant funding from Napa Valley College in an amount not to exceed $1,100 for the Youth Entrepreneurship Program for the period July 1, 2017 through December 13, 2017.

BACKGROUND:
The grant funding will support two mentors for the Digital Safari Project Based Learning Project, a component of the Contra Costa County Small Business Development Center's (SBDC) Youth Entrepeneurship Program. The SBDC will provide the two (2) mentors for the Digital Safari Project, a high school academy that includes a business planning competition. Mentoring sessions are designed for either two (2) hours per month in the months of August through November 2017 or 10 hours at $55 per hour, up to the grant amount of $1,100. (No County match)
