RECOMMENDATION(S):

Approve and authorize the Purchasing Agent on behalf of the Health Services Department, to execute a Purchase Order with Direct Systems Support, in an amount not to exceed $196,895 for purchase of annual hardware maintenance support of the VMAX data storage system for the period of July 1, 2016 through June 30, 2017.

FISCAL IMPACT:

100% Funding is included in the Hospital Enterprise Fund I Budget.

BACKGROUND:

Contra Costa Health Services utilizes the Contractor’s EMC VMAX system for storage of the Epic Electronic Health Record (EHR) system data. This purchase order is for renewal of the maintenance for the data storage.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

Failure to renew maintenance support would directly impact patient care.
