RECOMMENDATION(S):

AUTHORIZE the Chair of the Board of Supervisors to sign the Certification Statement for the Child Health and Disability Prevention Program as required by the State of California.

FISCAL IMPACT:

No fiscal impact.

BACKGROUND:

The State of California requires an annual statement certifying that the County's Child Health and Disability Prevention Program (CHDP) will comply with all applicable provisions federal and state regulations and laws, including the Health and Safety Code and any applicable rules or regulations promulgated by the California Department of Health Care Services. The statement must be signed by the CHDP program administrator, health officer and chair of the local governing board. The certification is attached.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If the certification is not signed and returned to the State, the County will not be in compliance with program requirements.
