RECOMMENDATION(S):

Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract #27-948-1 with Canyon Pinole Surgery Center, LP., a limited partnership, in an amount not to exceed $250,000, to provide ambulatory surgery center services to Contra Costa Health Plan members, for the period from October 1, 2016 through September 30, 2018.

FISCAL IMPACT:

This Contract is funded 100% Contra Costa Health Plan Enterprise Fund II. (No Rate Increase)

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:




BACKGROUND:

In September 2014, the County Administrator approved and the Purchasing Services Manager executed Contract #27-948 with Canyon Pinole Surgery Center, LP., for the provision of ambulatory surgery center services to Contra Costa Health Plan members, for the period from October 1, 2014 through September 30, 2016.  
  
Approval of Contract #27-948-1 will allow Canyon Pinole Surgery Center, LP., to continue providing ambulatory surgery center services to Contra Costa Health Plan members, through September 30, 2018.  

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: (CONT'D)
If this contract is not approved, certain specialized professional health care services for its members under the terms of their Individual and Group Health Plan membership contracts with the County will not be provided.
