RECOMMENDATION(S):

APPOINT James Robert Donnelly to the Danville Alamo Local Committee seat on the Advisory Council on Aging as recommended by the Danville Town Council and the Employment and Human Services Department Director.

FISCAL IMPACT:

Not applicable.

BACKGROUND:

Mr. Donnelly resides in Danville and was recommended for appointment to the Advisory Council on Aging (ACOA) by the Danville Town Council for a term ending September 30, 2017. The seat is currently vacant.

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)

The ACOA provides a means for county-wide planning, cooperation, and coordination of individuals and groups interested in improving and developing services and opportunities for the older residents of the County. The ACOA provides leadership and advocacy on behalf of older persons and serves as a channel for communication and information on aging.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

Advisory Council on Aging may not be able to conduct routine business.
