RECOMMENDATION(S):

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Agricultural Commissioner, or designee, to execute an agreement with the California Department of Food and Agriculture in an amount not to exceed $4,917 to reimburse the County for inspection and testing of Industrial Hemp growers in Contra Costa County for the period of July 1, 2022 through June 30, 2023.

FISCAL IMPACT:

This agreement reimburses the Department of Agriculture in an amount not to exceed $4,917. There is no County match of funds or cost share requirements. This revenue is budgeted in the FY 2022-23 budget. (100% State funds)

BACKGROUND:

This agreement will reimburse the Department for conducting inspections to verify compliance with the California Food and Agriculture Code and the California Code of Regulations through inspections and testing.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

Failure to accept this agreement will cause a loss of revenue to the Department to enforce a mandated regulation.
