RECOMMENDATION(S):

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Health Services Director, or designee, to execute on behalf of the County Contract #27-950-4 with Brighter Beginnings, a corporation, in an amount not to exceed $600,000, to provide primary care physician (PCP) services to Contra Costa Health Plan (CCHP) Members, for the period October 1, 2020 through September 30, 2023.

FISCAL IMPACT:

This Contract is funded 100% by CCHP Enterprise Fund II. (No rate increase)

BACKGROUND:

On September 25, 2018, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #27-950-2 (as amended by Amendment Agreement #27-950-3) with Brighter Beginnings, to provide PCP services to CCHP members for the period from October 1, 2018 through September 30, 2020.
Approval of Contract #27-950-4 will allow Contractor to continue providing PCP services through September 30, 2023.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this contract is not approved, certain specialized health care services will not be provided.
