RECOMMENDATION(S):

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Health Services Director, or designee, to accept Grant Award #28-930 with the State of California Health and Human Services Agency, California Department of Public Health (CDPH), to pay the County an amount not to exceed $125,000, to provide COVID-19 and respiratory viral panel testing for the Community Sentinel Surveillance Project, for the period from March 5, 2020 through March 15, 2021.

FISCAL IMPACT:

Acceptance of the Grant Award will result in payment to the County up to $125,000 in funding from the CDPH. No County match required.

BACKGROUND:

Approval of this Grant Award #28-930 will allow Contra Costa County to participate in the State Community Sentinel Surveillance Project which will allow Contra Costa County Health Services Department patients who are experiencing COVID-19 like symptoms to be tested for both COVID-19 and other respiratory viruses, through March 15, 2021.
