RECOMMENDATION(S):

Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or designee, to submit on behalf of the County, Application #29-813 and Resolution #2017/300 to the California Office of Housing and Community Development, in an amount payable to County not to exceed $150,000, for the No Place Like Home (NPLH) Program.

FISCAL IMPACT:

Approval of this Agreement will result in an amount not to exceed $150,000 of funding from the California Office of Housing and Community Development for the NPLH Program.

BACKGROUND:

The purpose of the NPLH Program is to acquire, design, construct, rehabilitate, and preserve permanent supportive housing for persons who are experiencing homelessness, chronic homelessness or who are at risk of chronic homelessness, and who are in need of mental health services.

Approval of submission of Application #29-813 will allow County to apply for funding for the NPLH Program for homeless person in Contra Costa County.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this application is not approved, County will not be able to better assist its homeless population with permanent supportive housing for persons in need of mental health services.
