RECOMMENDATION(S):

Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute on behalf of the County, a Contract Amendment #26-590-22 with The Greeley Company, Inc., a corporation, effective July 1, 2017, to amend Contract #26-590-20 (as amended by Amendment Agreement #26-590-21), to increase the Payment Limit by $957,000 from $1,100,000 to a new total $2,057,000, for additional consulting with regard to Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) survey, with no change in the original term January 1, 2017 through December 31, 2017.

FISCAL IMPACT:

This amendment is funded Hospital Enterprise Fund I. (No rate increase)

BACKGROUND:

On February 14, 2017, the County Administrator approved and Purchasing Services Manager executed Contract #26-590-20 (as amended by Amendment Agreement #26-590-21) with The Greeley Company, Inc., for the period from January 1, 2017 through December 31, 2017, to provide consulting services at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Centers and Contra Costa Health Plan.

Approval of Contract Amendment Agreement #26-590-22 will allow the Contractor to provide additional CMS survey compliance consultation services, through December 31, 2017.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this amendment is not approved, Contra Costa Health Services will not have access to quality and compliance consulting services from this Contractor.
