RECOMMENDATION(S):

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Public Works Director, or designee, to execute a contract with Park Engineering, Inc., in an amount not to exceed $250,000 to provide on-call municipal services, for the period of September 1, 2017 to August 31, 2019, Countywide.

FISCAL IMPACT:

100% Various Public Works Funds.

BACKGROUND:

The Public Works Department has vacancies in municipal service program areas that are actively recruiting or plan to recruit for these positions. A contract is needed to get the work done while we go through the hiring process.. After a solicitation process, this firm was selected as one of the three firms to provide municipal services on an “on-call” basis. The contractor will augment Public Works staff on an as-needed basis. This on-call contract will be in effect for two years.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If the contract is not approved, necessary projects in the Special Districts section may not be completed in a timely manner.
