RECOMMENDATION(S):

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Public Works Director, or designee, to execute a contract amendment with Debri-Tech, Inc., to increase the payment limit from $500,000 to a new payment limit of $1,000,000, to provide as-needed assistance with trash and abandoned waste cleanup and removal for the Contra Costa County Watershed Program (CWP), with no change to the original term of August 1, 2015 through July 31, 2018, Countywide.

FISCAL IMPACT:

100% Stormwater Utility Assessment Revenue Funds.

BACKGROUND:

The CWP requires as-needed assistance with trash and abandoned waste cleanup and related removal activities in order to remain in compliance with Contra Costa County’s stormwater NPDES (National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System) permit from the California Regional Water Quality Control Board(s).

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

Without the approval of this contract amendment by the Board of Supervisors, Contra Costa County will be out of compliance with its stormwater permits from the Regional Water Quality Control Board(s).
