RECOMMENDATION(S):

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Health Services Director, or designee, to execute Contract #76-544-6 with Dayana Carcamo-Molina MD Inc., a corporation, in an amount not to exceed $1,890,000, to provide gastroenterology services at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center (CCRMC) and Contra Costa Health Centers, for the period from August 1, 2022 through July 31, 2025.

FISCAL IMPACT:

Approval of this contract will result in service expenditures of up to $1,890,000 over a three-year period and will be funded by 100% Hospital Enterprise Fund I allocations. (Rate increase)

BACKGROUND:

CCRMC and Contra Costa Health Centers have an obligation to provide specialty gastroenterology medical services to patients at CCRMC and Contra Costa Health Centers. The County has been using the contractor’s specialty medical services since August 1, 2016.

On October 13, 2020, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #76-544-5 with Dayana Carcamo-Molina MD Inc., in an amount not to exceed $1,625,000 to provide specialty gastroenterology medical services to patients at CCRMC and Contra Costa Health Centers, for the period August 1, 2021 through July 31, 2022.

Approval of Contract #76-544-6 will allow the contractor to continue providing specialty gastroenterology medical services to patients at CCRMC and Contra Costa Health Centers through July 31, 2025.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this contract is not approved, patients at CCRMC and Contra Costa Health Centers will not have access to this contractor’s services.
