RECOMMENDATION(S):

RECEIVE this report concerning the final settlement of Kristy Trindade and AUTHORIZE payment from the Workers' Compensation Internal Service Fund in an amount not to exceed $80,000, less permanent disability advances.

FISCAL IMPACT:

Workers' Compensation Internal Service Fund payment of $80,000, less permanent disability advances.

BACKGROUND:

Attorney Christian P. Kerry, defense counsel for the County, has advised the County Administrator that within authorization an agreement has been reached settling the workers' compensation claim of Kristy Trindade v. Contra Costa County. The Board's July 12, 2022 closed session vote was: Supervisors Gioia, Andersen, Burgis Mitchoff and Glover - Yes. This action is taken so that the terms of this final settlement and the earlier July 12, 2022 closed session vote of this Board authoring its negotiated settlement are known publicly.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

Case will not be settled.
