RECOMMENDATION(S):

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Chief Information Officer, Department of Information Technology, or designee, to execute a contract with the East Bay Regional Park District for the Department of Information Technology to provide radio communication services to the East Bay Regional Park District at the rate of $139.00 per hour plus the cost of any material and equipment and to provide rack space at certain County communication facilities for radio equipment to be housed for the term August 1, 2022 until terminated.

FISCAL IMPACT:

Revenue for the Telecommunications Division of the Department of Information Technology. (100% General Fund)

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

The Department of Information Technology will not be able to provide radio communication services to the East Bay Regional Park District.






BACKGROUND:

The Department of Information Technology’s (DoIT) Telecommunications Division will provide the East Bay Regional Parks District (Agency) with professional telecommunications and related services. Upon request, DoIT will provide radio programming services for Agency’s radio equipment and service dispatch consoles at the rate of $139.00 per hour, which may be adjusted each fiscal year, plus the cost of any materials and required equipment and to provide rack space at certain County radio communication facilities for the Agency’s radio equipment to be housed.  
  
Under the agreement, the County is obligated to defend and indemnify the Agency of third-party claims arising out of the County’s negligent acts in performing the Agreement.
