RECOMMENDATION(S):

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Purchasing Agent, or designee, to execute on behalf of the Health Services Director, an amendment to Purchase Order #24990 with Microsoft Corporation to amend the term of January 20, 2022 through January 19, 2023 to a term of April 6, 2022 through April 5, 2023, with no change to the payment limit of $315,694 to purchase Microsoft’s Unified Support for licensed products.

FISCAL IMPACT:

Approval of this action will result in annual expenditures of up to $315,694 and will be funded 100% by the Hospital Enterprise Fund I revenues.

BACKGROUND:

The County Health Services Department has used the Unified Support from Microsoft for advanced support on all Microsoft licenses on the Enterprise Agreement since 2019. Unified provides advanced support, faster response times, automatic escalations, and a dedicated account manager to assist in recovery solutions. The service also includes proactive support engagements for building ad-hoc solutions and upgrades.

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)

On March 29th, Board Order C.44 was approved and Purchase Order #24990 was issued. Microsoft requested the PO be updated with a new address, which caused a delay in starting the term cycle, and therefore requires a new PO term.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

Failure to approve the requested change may result in a drastic increase in resolution times, decreased solution flexibility, and an overall reduction in resolution resources.
