RECOMMENDATION(S):

ACCEPT the resignation of Candida Duperroir, DECLARE a vacancy in the Discretionary Appointee 1 - East County seat on the Local Planning and Advisory Council for Early Care and Education (LPC), and DIRECT the Clerk of the Board to post the vacancy, as recommended by the Contra Costa County Office of Education.

FISCAL IMPACT:

None.

BACKGROUND:

The mission of the Contra Costa County Local Planning and Advisory Council for Early Care and Education (LPC) is to promote quality childcare through community assessment, advocacy, resource development, and collaboration with other organizations. The LPC coordinates programs and services affecting early child care and education, including recommendations for the allocation of Federal Funds to local early child care and education programs.

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)

Upon taking a new position with Alameda County, the incumbent resigned on June 6, 2022 with an effective resignation date of June 30, 2022. The term for this seat will expire on April 30, 2024.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

Failure to declare the vacancy and to fill the seat will result in reduced public participation.
