Contra Costa Health Plan (CCHP) has an obligation to provide certain specialized Behavioral Health Treatment (BHT) – Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) services including, but not limited to: treatment plans to improve the functioning of CCHP members with pervasive developmental disorder or autism under the terms of their Individual and Group Health Plan membership contracts with the County. This contractor has been providing BHT-ABA services to CCHP members for several years, formerly under a Memo of Understanding and converted to a County contract in July 2021.
On July 13, 2021, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #77-340 with Behavior Treatment & Analysis, Inc, in an amount not to exceed $2,000,000 for the provision of ABA services for CCHP members and County recipients, for the period July 1, 2021 through June 30, 2023.
On October 5, 2021, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract Amendment Agreement #77-340-1 with Behavior Treatment & Analysis, Inc, effective October 1, 2021, to amend Contract #77-340 to increase the payment limit by $1,000,000, from $2,000,000 to a new payment limit of $3,000,000, to provide additional ABA services for CCHP members and County recipients, with no change in the original term of July 1, 2021 through June 30, 2023.
This contractor’s utilization has been higher than anticipated, therefore, the department requests the contract payment limit be increased to ensure proper compensation for utilization of services for CCHP members and County recipients.
Approval of Contract Amendment Agreement #77-340-2 will allow the contractor to provide additional BHT-ABA services through June 30, 2023.
If this amendment is not approved, additional BHT-ABA services will not be provided to CCHP members under this contract with the County.
