RECOMMENDATION(S):
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Health Services Director or designee, to execute Interagency Agreement #23-551-4 with the City of Richmond on behalf of its Fire Department, in an amount not to exceed $688,386, to provide pre-hospital emergency medical first responder services within the City of Richmond, for the period July 1, 2022 through June 30, 2025.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This contract will result in contractual service expenditures of up to $688,386 over a 3-year period and will be funded 100% by CSA EM-1 (Measure H). (No rate increase)
BACKGROUND:
County Service Area EM-1 was established in 1989 to provide enhanced emergency medical services, including rapid paramedic-staffed ambulance response, to the residents of Contra Costa County. On May 14, 2013, the Board of Supervisors authorized the County’s Health Services Emergency Medical Services Division approval of CSA EM-1 fire agency funding, based on a population-based funding formula, to partially offset cost to the to fire agencies providing first responder Paramedic services in Zone B.
