RECOMMENDATION(S):

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Fire Chief, or designee, to execute a contract with O3, Inc. in an amount not to exceed $525,000, for consulting and technical assistance related to Information Technology infrastructure, network modernization, governance risk management and compliance, and overall Information Technology management for the term July 1, 2022 to June 30, 2025.

FISCAL IMPACT:

Budgeted; 100% Special District General Operating Fund.

BACKGROUND:

The Contra Costa County Fire Protection District utilizes complex information technology (IT) systems to support its operations. The Contractor will provide consultation and technical assistance to the District to modernize its IT Infrastructure to ensure availability and performance of existing services, and to provide a robust platform for future services.

The Contractor will also act as the project manager to modernize and harden the District's network infrastructure to ensure availability, performance, and security of existing network services. Governance of enterprise information technology is a major concern for the District’s board of directors and executive management. IT services have evolved to become critical to sustaining growth, innovation, and transformation; reducing and containing costs; and supporting the ongoing business operations of the District. Contractor shall assist the District to establish an IT Governance, Risk Management, and Compliance program. Contractor shall also provide executive-level IT management strategy and support services to the District.
