RECOMMENDATION(S):

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Purchasing Agent or designee, to execute, on behalf of the Public Works Director, an amendment to purchase order #016742 with W.W. Grainger, Inc. (Grainger) to extend the term from July 31, 2021 through December 31, 2021, for miscellaneous parts, small tools and supplies, with no change to the payment limit of $900,000.00, Countywide.

FISCAL IMPACT:

There is no fiscal impact with this action. The amendment is to extend the term only with no change to the payment limit. Contract costs are budgeted in the Facilities Maintenance Budget.

BACKGROUND:

W.W. Grainger, Inc. (Grainger) provides thousands of supplies, tools, parts and equipment to Facilities in a next-day format. Grainger has been awarded a contract through the Western States Contracting Alliance (WSCA contract number 1824) which allows Facilities to utilize them for purchases of parts, supplies, tools and small equipment. Utilizing such a government contract guarantees the County fair pricing and exceptional service.

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)

This purchase order amendment will allow Facilities Services to continue to purchase supplies, tools, parts and equipment for County buildings until December 31, 2021, while a County-wide blanket purchase order is executed.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If the amendment to the purchase order is not approved, then purchasing parts, tools, equipment, and supplies through W.W. Grainger, Inc. (Grainger) will discontinue.
