RECOMMENDATION(S):

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Purchasing Agent, or designee, on behalf of the Public Works Director, to donate two Honda all-terrain vehicles (ATVs) to the Lafayette Police Department and two Honda ATVs to the Oakley Police Department and remove these items from the departmental inventory.

FISCAL IMPACT:

No fiscal impact.

BACKGROUND:

The Contra Costa County Office of the Sheriff has been contacted by the Lafayette Police Department and the Oakley Police Department regarding the donation of our older ATVs to their departments. The units are no longer in service at the Sheriff's Office and have been sitting for a number of years.

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)
The Sheriff's Office supports this request and finds the surplus has some remaining life and will better serve the needs of the Lafayette Police Department and the Oakley Police Department.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

The ATVs would be sold through Surplus pursuant to current policy.
