DIRECT the Director of the Department of Conservation and Development to file a Notice of Exemption with the County Clerk; and
AUTHORIZE the Public Works Director, or designee, to arrange for payment of a $25 fee to the Department of Conservation and Development for processing, and a $50 fee to the County Clerk for filing the Notice of Exemption.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Estimated project cost: $180,000; County Service Area M-16 Fund 248800: 60%; California Prop 68 Per Capita Program Grant Funds: 40%.
BACKGROUND:
The Clyde community has requested that the Contra Costa County Department of Public Works, Special Districts Division, provide playground equipment for Big Oak Tree Park located along Kilburn Street in Clyde. Currently, Big Oak Tree Park is landscaped, but does not have any amenities for children. The proposed playground equipment will be for children ages two to five years old and will have a rubber safety surfacing around it. Ground disturbance and excavation will occur to an anticipated depth of two to three feet. No utility relocations, traffic control, vegetation removal, or real property transactions are anticipated.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
Delay in approving the project may result in a delay of design, construction, and may jeopardize funding.
