RECOMMENDATION(S):

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Director of Human Resources, or designee, to execute a contract with HireVue, Inc., including modified indemnification language, in the amount not to exceed $40,000 to provide web-based structured interviewing software, for the period of July 1, 2021 through June 30, 2022.

FISCAL IMPACT:

The cost for the first year of the contract is within the Human Resources Department budget and will be budgeted in subsequent years. (100% General Fund)













BACKGROUND:

The County intitially contracted with HireVue for their web-based interview software during the Pandemic in order to meet social distancing requirements. HireVue provides fair, structured interviewing capabilities via a subscription web-based platform which allows candidates the flexibility to participate in the interview process at a convenient time. This software allows for consistency which in turn equals fairness when it comes to the structured interview process. In addition, HireVue's Builder functionality has mapped every Contra Costa County job via the ONet database to ensure the right competencies are met and evaluated during an interview. HireVue has the highest rated candidate experience scores in the industry and the only vendor that is FedRAMP authorized, allowing them to provide the highest level of security available in the industry. Based on the flexibility and functionality offered to candidates and departments, continued use of HireVue has become a valued tool in the County recruiting process. The agreement includes modified indemnification language.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If the contract is not approved, we will not be able to use HireVue’s web-based software in order to continue modernizing our interview processes and provide fair and consistent interviewing practices.
