The purpose of this agreement is to provide Planned Parenthood Shasta Diablo, Inc. (dba Planned Parenthood Northern California) and family medicine residents with the opportunity to integrate academic knowledge with applied skills at progressively higher levels of performance and responsibility. Supervised fieldwork experience for residents is considered to be an integral part of both educational and professional preparation. Planned Parenthood Shasta Diablo, Inc. (dba Planned Parenthood Northern California) can provide the training to County’s Family Medicine Residency Program, while at the same time, benefitting from the residents services to patients.
On March 28, 2017, the Board of Supervisors approved Interagency Agreement #76-548 with Planned Parenthood Shasta Diablo, Inc. (dba Planned Parenthood Northern California) for the period from July 1, 2016 through June 30, 2021, for the provision of clinical training to residents in the County’s Family Medicine Residency Program.
The Department and the Contractor have renegotiated the Contract terms to allow the Contractor to continue to provide clinical training to residents in the County’s Family Medicine Residency Program. Therefore, in accordance with General Conditions Paragraph 5. (Termination and Cancellation) of the Contract, the Department and Contractor have agreed to cancel Contract #76-548 and enter into a new Contract.
Approval of Interagency Agreement #76-548-2 will allow the Contractor to continue to provide clinical training to residents in the County’s Family Medicine Residency Program through June 30, 2025. This Agreement includes mutual indemnification to hold harmless both parties for any claims arising out of the performance of this Contract.
If this contract is not approved, the residents will not receive supervised fieldwork instruction experience at Planned Parenthood Northern California clinics.
