RECOMMENDATION(S):

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Health Services Director, or designee, to execute on behalf of the County Contract #23-475-8 with K.B.R., Inc. (dba Rash Curtis & Associates), a corporation, in an amount not to exceed $450,000, to provide debt collection services for unpaid accounts for the Health Services Department for the period from July 1, 2020 through June 30, 2021.

FISCAL IMPACT:

This Contract is funded 100% by Hospital Enterprise Fund I. Contractor will be paid on a commission basis for debts it actually collects.

BACKGROUND:

On June 11, 2019, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #23-475-7 with K.B.R., Inc. (dba Rash Curtis & Associates) for the provision of debt collection services for unpaid accounts for the Health Services Department, for the period from July 1, 2019 through June 30, 2020.

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)

Approval of Contract #23-475-8 will allow Contractor to continue providing debt collection services for unpaid accounts through June 30, 2021.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this contract is not approved, the County will not be able to receive payment for unpaid debt collections recovered by Contractor’s services.
