RECOMMENDATION(S):

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Health Services Director, or designee, to execute on behalf of the County Contract #74–331-12 containing mutual indemnification with Helios Healthcare, LLC, a limited liability company, in an amount not to exceed $473,840, to provide sub-acute skilled nursing care services for serious mentally ill and neurobehavioral clients, for the period from July 1, 2020 through June 30, 2021.

FISCAL IMPACT:

This Contract is funded 100% by Mental Health Realignment Funds. (Rate Increase)

BACKGROUND:

On June 11, 2019, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #74-331-11 with Helios Healthcare, LLC, to provide sub-acute skilled nursing care services for serious mentally ill and neurobehavioral clients, for the period from July 1, 2019 through June 30, 2020.  
  

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)
Approval of Contract #74-331-12 will allow the Contractor to continue providing services through June 30, 2021. This contract includes mutual indemnification to hold harmless both parties for any claims arising out of the performance of this Contract.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this contract is not approved, there will be fewer sub-acute skilled nursing care services available for County’s seriously mentally ill and neurobehavioral clients.
