RECOMMENDATION(S):

REAPPOINT Armando Morales to Low-Income Sector 5 seat of the Contra Costa County Economic Opportunity Council with a term end date of June 30, 2021, as recommended by the Employment and Human Services Director.

FISCAL IMPACT:

There is no fiscal impact.

BACKGROUND:

The duties and responsibilities of the Economic Opportunity Council include: reviewing fiscal and programmatic reports submitted by staff and the performance of Community Services Block Grant contractors and the Weatherization program services; selecting its officers and appointing members to EOC Committees; making recommendations to the Board of Supervisors on all program proposals and budgets related to Community Services Block Grant and the Weatherization program; and requiring and receiving budget and other reports prepared by staff every other month along with an Annual Report in September.

This board order seeks to reappoint Armando Morales to Low-Income Sector 5 with a term end date of June 30, 2021. Mr. Morales resides in Oakley, California and has served on the Council since January 7, 2014.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If not approved, the Economic Opportunity Council's ability to conduct routine business will be impaired.
