RECOMMENDATION(S):

Accept the Canvass of Votes for the July 9, 2019 Special Election for the Police Services measures in the following County Service Areas:

P-6, Zone 1516, Supervisorial District 2 - Unincorporated area of Walnut Creek passed

P-6, Zone 505, Supervisorial District 3 - Unincorporated area of Discovery Bay passed

BACKGROUND:

For the election results, see the attached Certificates of the County Clerk, providing results of the July 9, 2019 Special Election for County Service Areas P-6 Zone 1516 and County Service Areas P-6 Zone 505, where each landowner of the affected area was allowed one vote for each acre or portion thereof on Resolution No. 2019/133 and Resolution No. 2019/148, so as to authorize a special tax on said properties, located in unincorporated area in Walnut Creek and Discovery Bay, to maintain present level of police protection services and provide additional funding for increased police protection services.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If the Board of Supervisors does not accept the Canvass of Votes, Zone 1516 and Zone 505 will not be formed.
