RECOMMENDATION(S):

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Public Works Director, or designee, to execute a contract amendment with Got Power, Inc. (dba California Diesel & Power) (CD & Power), effective March 1, 2019, to include additional services and to increase the payment limit from $650,000 to a new payment limit of $800,000, with no change to the original term of February 1, 2018 to January 31, 2021 for generator preventative maintenance and emergency repair services, Countywide. (100% General Fund)

FISCAL IMPACT:

This cost is to be funded through Facilities Services maintenance budget. (100% General Fund)

BACKGROUND:

Facilities Services utilizes vendors such as CD & Power to provide preventative maintenance and repairs to nearly 50 emergency standby generators to ensure the equipment are reliable and ready to provide power as needed during an electrical outage. This amendment is to add load testing of generators, which will assess the generators ability to run for an extended period of time under full load and reliability of all the generator components.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this contract amendment is not approved, load testing will not be conducted to assess generator reliability.
