RECOMMENDATION(S):

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Health Services Director, or designee, to execute on behalf of the County, Interagency Agreement #29-520-11 with the Pittsburg Unified School District, a government agency, to pay County an amount not to exceed $154,500, to provide mental health intervention services for agency-designated, Special Education students with severe emotional needs in East County for the period from July 1, 2019 through June 30, 2020.

Approval of this Interagency Agreement will result in a total payment to the County in an amount not to exceed $154,500. No County match is required.  

BACKGROUND:

Contra Costa Behavioral Health Services Division/Mental Health in collaboration with Lincoln Child Center and Pittsburg Unified School District implemented the Petite Academy Program to provide mental health services for to youth with severe emotional needs who live in East County and to their families.

Approval of Interagency Agreement #29-520-11 will allow the Agency to pay the County for providing mental health intervention services, to agency-designated, severely emotionally disturbed Special Education students, through June 30, 2020.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this agreement is not approved, County will not receive funding to support mental health intervention services for certain Special Education students.
