RECOMMENDATION(S):

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Health Services Director, or designee, to execute on behalf of the County Contract #27-530-9 with BASS Medical Group, Inc., in an amount not to exceed $21,000,000, to provide primary care, urgent care, specialty and surgery services to Contra Costa Health Plan (CCHP) members, for the period from July 1, 2019 through June 30, 2021.

FISCAL IMPACT:

This contract is funded 100% by CCHP Enterprise Fund II. (No rate increase)

BACKGROUND:

On July 18, 2017, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #27-530-8 with BASS Medical Group, Inc., formerly known as Bay Area Surgical Specialists, Inc., for the provision of primary care, vascular, thoracic and gastric bypass surgery services for the period from July 1, 2017 through June 30, 2019.

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)

Approval of Contract #27-530-9 will allow Contractor to provide additional primary care, urgent care, specialty and surgery services through June 30, 2021.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this contract is not approved, certain specialized health care services for its members under the terms of their Individual and Group Health plan membership contracts with the County will not be provided.
