RECOMMENDATION(S):

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Health Services Director, or designee, to execute on behalf of the County, Contract #23–455-14 with Atos Digital Healthcare Solutions, Inc., a corporation, in an amount not to exceed $728,000, including modified indemnification language, to provide training and technical support to the Health Services Department’s Information System Unit on its inventory/finance management system used by the Materials Management and Laboratory Divisions for the period July 1, 2018 through June 30, 2019.

FISCAL IMPACT:

This contract is funded 100% by Hospital Enterprise Fund I. (No rate increase)

BACKGROUND:

On June 16, 2015, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #23-455-8 (as amended by Amendment Agreements #23-455-7 through #23-455-13), with Atos Digital Healthcare Solutions, Inc., to provide training and technical support for the Health Services Department’s Information System Unit in regards to the inventory/finance management system used by the Laboratory and Materials Management Divisions of the Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Health Centers, for the period from July 1, 2015 through June 30, 2018.  
  
Approval of Contract #23–455-14, will allow the contractor to continue to provide training and technical support, through June 30, 2019. This contract includes modifications to County’s standard indemnification clause.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this contract is not approved, the contractor will not be able to provide support services for the Department’s Information Systems Unit.
